Carol Mowdy Bond grew up around family farm animals, fruit trees, massive gardens, and pet squirrels. She loved fishing, and she explored and wandered the American outdoors. These days, Bond and her camera traipse through farms and ranches, snoop around historic sites, and spy on wildlife.A historian with four published books, Bond also writes for many periodicals. She enjoys cobbling stories about all things agriculture, nature, history, and unusual topics. Bond holds a B.A. in history from Oklahoma State University, still lives in her home state of Oklahoma, and she is a member of Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Carol used to work as a Historian in charge of the book section at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum - The Museum Store from 2009 to 2010 and then she worked as a freelance newspaper reporter/photographer for 12 years. Currently, she is a freelance writer/photographer/historian who writes for various magazines.
